Day 174: Hairflip
I'm feeling a bit better about my trip this weekend. I still have so much to do! I gotta print up Sometimes Foodie business cards for the event, and pick out my outfits, a pack in general, and blarrrrg. Okay, time to calm down and make to-do lists. I'm a list maker, making lists and crossing things off them makes me feel so much better. Is that normal? Or do I have like some kind of list-related anxiety?

Day 172: Industrial Under-eye Concealer
I wanted to draw something that looked kind of like I do 90% of the time. Lazy bun to make hair stay out of the way, under eye bags and dark circles, and lazy slouchy tank-tops with cheap Forever21 tank tops underneath. Yup, that's me alright.
I gotta figure out this hair situation soon, I want to cut it shorter to force me to wear it down more often, but it took so long for it to grow to this length that I'm hesitant to do it now. If I wear it up all the time, having it so long really doesn't matter, right? At least that's what I'm telling myself. Maybe I should get it done at a salon. I've only ever done it once, and the results were nice, but I'm not the kind of person to bother with my hair.

Day 171: Ramethyst
So it finally happened, I missed a day. Yesterday I passed out and fell asleep through the night til 7AM. I'm pretty disappointed in myself that I missed that day, but I really did need the sleep.
Here's a little WIP of my Raya-Amethyst for my Crystal Jems piece for Otakon.

Day 169: WItchy Woman
I think I might make some mini prints featuring this witchy little woman. I was thinking of adding "Hexes not Exes," at the bottom and making a final version of this as a print and stuff.

Day 159: *Internal Screaming*
I call this one, I'm still not over last Sunday's episode of Game of Thrones. Also I wanted to practice more extreme expressions. I tend to draw a lot of blank staring faces, I want to practice more expressions.

Day 150: Rockin’ Rose Quartz!
Crystal Jem Series : Rockin’ Rose Quartz!
I’m combining my two animated musical loves, Jem & the Holograms with Steven Universe! Here’s the first in my series. I’ll be printing these up in various forms for Otakon 2015! I’m gonna get started on the other Gem/Jem’s this week. I have a whole band to create!
Animated process under the cut!

Day 145: Something a little different
I saw this fancy headdress post on tumblr and did a little doodle of one. Not really my style, but I like the tiny skull part.

Day 136: Dammit Crystal!
So I'm one of those people who is NOT a fan of the Sailor Moon reboot. I was all for it in the beginning, and I was super excited that it would be sticking so closely to the manga, but now that it's here....I'm really disappointed.
I feel like the new series is relying on the old anime from the 90's to flesh out their characters and make us actually care about them, because this new version is flat and emotionless. I mean, Usagi still cries all the time, but the rest of the characters are so...empty. Any emotions I have for them comes from the older series and manga, as a stand alone series, this just feels heartless and super fast paced. No one gets really fleshed out, we don't get a true feel for their personalities, and the sotry is moving so quickly that we never get the chance to really appreciate the scouts as a team, as soon as they were all together everyone's off getting kidnapped.
BAH, anyway I doodled this while watching the newest episode. I am so not happy.

Day 134: I'm not obsessed with Hell Girl, you're obsessed with Hell Girl
I may be a little obsessed...I felt like my half-assed doodle yesterday wasn't good enough, so I tried to make up for it tonight.

Day 127: Tiny Furry Babies
I decided I had to show my other 4-legged furry friends some love. I tend to prefer little dogs, since I can easily pick them up.
I'm not one of those people who dressed their pet up and puts them in a purse or anything, I just like the idea of easily being able to pick them up and get them out of danger, or easily take them to the vet if they can't move. I don't have much upper body strength, so medium-to-small dogs are ideal for me. Don't get me wrong, I love big dogs too, but I have this lingering fear of them needing help and having to be carried and being unable to do it myself. I'd never forgive myself if I couldn't help my furry babies in need.

Day 126: Cats!
I saw some silly cat pics on Tumblr, and felt like doodling some furry babies. The derby cat at the top left is my favorite. I love that expression. Cats are awesome.

Day 123: Game of Doodles
Urggggg Game of Thrones! I was doodling during tonight's episode. Don't worry, no spoilers here, but whyyy? Ug, this wonderful, horrible, addicting show.
I started reading the books, and I really liked the first one, but in the second one when things started getting a bit more graphic, I couldn't get past it. R.R. Martin's writing style is wonderfully detailed, but I have no stomach for blood and gore written that specifically. I might pick it up again this summer and give it another try, but it makes me so anxious when I read it. We'll see what happens.

Day 108: Let there be LIPS
More semi-realistic and rendering practice. This time I practiced lips to get a better sense of how to draw them, and I'm pretty happy with it.

Day 84: Size Comparison
I feel like my daily drawings have been in a rut lately. A lot of the same ol' thing tossed into Photoshop and lazily colored, so I decided to do something a little different tonight. I went sketch-less, which means no preliminary pencil sketch, and did my little doodle tonight entirely in pen with little to no planning or thought. I like it a lot! I feel like it has more life to it than my more recent posts. Plus, I took a raw photo of it with my eraser for size comparison instead of cleaning it up in Photoshop.
This was drawn in .005 micron. I love working tiny. Also, I always draw pigtails so high up! these are meant to be kinda lazy doubled up hair in pigtails, which is something I do sometimes to keep my hair out of the way at home, but I really ought to draw them lower, and do my own lower. I'm not a little kid anymore.

Day 72: Mermaids
I don't do mythical creatures very often, or really at all, but I felt like making a Mermaid tonight for some reason. I have no idea why, but I had fun zoning out and doodling all the scales.

Day 63: Headache
I'm having another really bad headache today, which is rare, but when I get them they're really intense. I decided to try and make a little comic about it, since comics are something I'm not used to doing, and I'm happy with how it turned out visually, but honestly, this is something I worry about all the time.

Day 61: Rainbow Hair is still trendy, right?
Another lazy bust-style portrait, but I am trying to have more fun with color. I'll try and do something more difficult and semi-to-full bodied tomorrow. I'm still working with only a wireless mouse to color digitally, and all things considered, I'm having a lot of fun coloring these nightly little doodles.

Day 60: Da Ba Dee Da Ba Die
I keep thinking I should get bangs, and then I look at all my childhood photos, and I realize I rather set myself on fire. I have no idea how all of you out there with bangs do it. I guess you style them? If left to it's own devices, my hair goes into sad droopy ringlet mode, can you imagine sad droopy ringlet bangs? Then take those, brush them, and you have frizzy nightmare mode bangs. As a kid you can work with that, as an adult, I'll look insane. Still, I can look at all you stylish bang-wearers and dream.

Day 59: Headbands are neat
I used another stock-photo as reference. Man, I had a really busy day. Did 2 loads of laundry, recorded the next episode of the Candyology101 podcast, wrote up a new post for Sometimes Foodie, uploaded and edited a new video for Youtube, made french-fries from scratch (out of regular potatoes and everything) and made 2 pizzas dough and all. Plus I still did my drawing, and my nightly exercise.
WOO! I feel awesome and totally accomplished!

Day 58: Sleepy Puff
More doodles of my pile of puff Jack-Jack. Check him out in real life fidgeting like a baby in this video.
I'd like to do a little Pomeranian doodle set or sticker sheet for Otakon, but I think my style isn't so sticker-friendly. I'm not so good at the ultra cute "chibi" stuff that sells well. Sketchy and kinda awkward is more my style.
