Day 181: Everything is Chaos

Otakon is two weeks away, time to make my work area look like a war zone and stop sleeping!

I made these awesome sailor moon stationary pads yesterday using 60# writing paper, laser prints, chipboards, and glue. They turned out so cute! I think I'll sell them at Otakon paired with a sticker sheet for $8.00 a piece. Does that sound good? I think it does. There are 25 sheets on each pad, and I only have 11 finished pads to take with me. If they sell well there I'll make more and bring them with me to the International Sailor Moon day in Philadelphia next month.

Want a glimpse at my super messy work table? Check it out under the cut.

Day 175: The Notebook

Another digital design entry for tonight. I've been so busy getting ready for Otakon and the Fancy Food show that I didn't have a chance to draw tonight, but I got a lot of design done!

This will be a little Sailor Moon themed spiral notebook! I think it's pretty cute, what do you think?

Day 169: WItchy Woman

I think I might make some mini prints featuring this witchy little woman. I was thinking of adding "Hexes not Exes," at the bottom and making a final version of this as a print and stuff.

Day 161: It's 4AM

I doodled this lady, and normally I give a lot of my drawings hair, but I really liked her head-shape, and I felt like it might be nice to draw a woman with no hair, or a shaved head. Well that, and it's 4AM. I better get to bed.

Day 160: Design Break

Today is another design instead of doodle day. I’m printing business cards for Sometimes Foodie, so I made a few mock-ups. So far I’m really digging these ones. They still need a bit of tweaking here and there, but I think I’ll do two sets of 500 cards with some spot UV on the front.

I’m going to print out proof versions at work tomorrow to see what I’d like to change before moving forward. I also plan on making some postcards or something featuring more of the Asian food items I’ve reviewed to pass out at Otakon 2015. Gotta get the foodie word out about my blogs!

Day 156: Who's That YouTuber?

It's xsparkage! (I doubt she'll ever see this, but I'm so sorry if doodling you is creepy.) I've been following Leesha for years. Now that she's got her own little family, it's been a lot of fun watching her shift from being a make-up guru to a mom. My favorite moment from any of her videos is actually the day her daughter was born. The way she and her sister reacted was really similar to how I think my own sister and I would react in that situation, and it was just a really awesome moment of freaking out and being like, "...you had a baby."

Anyway, it's 4AM, I better get my butt to bed. I have another Candyology101 podcast tomorrow.

Day 152: Doodle Dump Break

I was having a really hard time focusing today, so I did a few really random doodles instead. I really like the evil looking little cat-thing, but the Pizazz-Jasper was a lot of fun too. I even used some color pencils on it.

Day 147: That's Better

More messing around with quick doodles and these Spectrum Noir markers. This one is so much better than yesterday's. I got way too carried away, less is definitely more.

Day 144: More watery doodles

Played around with a few things tonight on the tablet, this is the one that’s the most finished. I gotta get more nibs for my tablet, this one is already worn down. I saw a DIY nib video on youtube, so I might try doing that.

Day 140: Sleepy Puff

Not much to say today, it's just a pencil sketch of my snuggly little dog. He sleeps in my bed more than I do. Today was a really long day, but only two more to go until the weekend, then it's more Otakon Artist Alley prep madness!

Day 136: Dammit Crystal!

So I'm one of those people who is NOT a fan of the Sailor Moon reboot. I was all for it in the beginning, and I was super excited that it would be sticking so closely to the manga, but now that it's here....I'm really disappointed.

I feel like the new series is relying on the old anime from the 90's to flesh out their characters and make us actually care about them, because this new version is flat and emotionless. I mean, Usagi still cries all the time, but the rest of the characters are so...empty. Any emotions I have for them comes from the older series and manga, as a stand alone series, this just feels heartless and super fast paced. No one gets really fleshed out, we don't get a true feel for their personalities, and the sotry is moving so quickly that we never get the chance to really appreciate the scouts as a team, as soon as they were all together everyone's off getting kidnapped.

BAH, anyway I doodled this while watching the newest episode. I am so not happy.

Day 134: I'm not obsessed with Hell Girl, you're obsessed with Hell Girl

I may be a little obsessed...I felt like my half-assed doodle yesterday wasn't good enough, so I tried to make up for it tonight.

Day 133: Hell Girl

It's been a really weird week, and I've been listening to a lot of Hell Girl while I work, so I made this doodle tonight and slapped the most cliche default brush over the background.

Day 130: Ink It UP!

Added ink, but I am having such a hard time with art block in every medium. I gotta snap out of this! I hate it.

Day 128: Gradients EVERYWHERE!

Not much of a story here, I wanted to draw something more expressive than I usually default to. Then I slapped on some lazy gradients in Photoshop. I'm digging the colors.

Day 127: Tiny Furry Babies

I decided I had to show my other 4-legged furry friends some love. I tend to prefer little dogs, since I can easily pick them up.

I'm not one of those people who dressed their pet up and puts them in a purse or anything, I just like the idea of easily being able to pick them up and get them out of danger, or easily take them to the vet if they can't move. I don't have much upper body strength, so medium-to-small dogs are ideal for me. Don't get me wrong, I love big dogs too, but I have this lingering fear of them needing help and having to be carried and being unable to do it myself. I'd never forgive myself if I couldn't help my furry babies in need.

Day 123: Game of Doodles

Urggggg Game of Thrones! I was doodling during tonight's episode. Don't worry, no spoilers here, but whyyy? Ug, this wonderful, horrible, addicting show.

I started reading the books, and I really liked the first one, but in the second one when things started getting a bit more graphic, I couldn't get past it. R.R. Martin's writing style is wonderfully detailed, but I have no stomach for blood and gore written that specifically. I might pick it up again this summer and give it another try, but it makes me so anxious when I read it. We'll see what happens.

Day 122: What a day

Today was a very very long day. So here's some hand practice and a sad doodle. I am so exhausted both physically and emotionally. Hopefully I'll sleep well tonight and wake up rejuvenated tomorrow.

Day 120: More Sketchbook Lovin'

I've been having a little trouble with my internet service provider, so I started doodling this in my sketchbook while I was tweeting their support team with my phone. Oh technology, what would I do with out you? Talk to people on the phone? Pfttt who wants to do that?

Day 119: I have no idea

Another lazy night, I'm so sorry. The day really got away from me. Tomorrow I'm going to sit down and draw something more worth-while.
