Day 177: Pack Mule

Trying to get back into my routine. Dear god, my legs are so stiff! I took every precaution. I wore comfy shoes, thick socks, fancy support and comfort shoe inserts, the whole nine yards. I walked...I don't even know how many miles, but thanks to my preparation I have zero blisters. Just stiff and sore muscles. I feel like all my muscles and tendons are pulled taught like rubber bands. Hopefully I'll be less stiff and more mobile soon. I still have so much to do!

This doodle is a more calm (and less frizzy and gross) version of myself on day one. I wore a dress, my camera strap, by press badge, my purse, an umbrella, and a giant bag filled with press materials and goodies. I walked all the way to and from the con carrying all this stuff, so now I have some broken capillaries and bruising on my shoulders from all the weight.

Day 173: Not a Clue

Oh my god. I'm freaking out so badly.

So I've been running my food blog, Sometimes Foodie, for almost 4 years now, and this past year it has gotten a lot more attention. I'm collaborating with other food bloggers, I'm doing a food related podcast, and Youtube videos, and now I'm going to a food industry event in New York!

This has kind of been in the works for a while, and I've been stalking the event website for months. I applied for a press pass, and I got in! Look at me being a member of the press.

The only downside is that when I had this whole idea, I was with someone, and I figured they'd be going with me and traveling to New York, and staying with me at the hotel. But now, things are different, and it'll just be me all alone going to NY with public transportation and staying in the room and eating all the food. It feels a bit lonely to do all that, and a bit scary to be honest, but I can do it. Due to my awful sense of direction I'll get lost a bit, but I'll eventually get there.

URGGGG I'm still freaking out. I'll feel better when I'm in the hotel this weekend. It's the journey that's freaking me out, not the event itself. I just gotta figure out how to get to the hotel from here. That's all. It's not that hard, right?

Day 168: Witchy Woman WIP

More WIP doodles of the same witchy character I doodled a few days ago. I like her for some reason. In my mind, the star charm at the end of her cap acts almost like a magic wand.

Day 165: Let's forget yesterday's post ever happened, okay? Okay.

I put more effort into tonight's drawing to make up for the abomination I posted yesterday. I'm not the type of person to typically have a celebrity crush, but Kit Harington, and his adorable black-sheep-like hair, has a special place in my heart.

Day 158: Comfy and Cozy

I really need to figure out what I am doing with my hair. I wear it up in a lazy bun 90% of the time. I need to hack it off and force myself to do something with it.

Also, WTF Game of Thrones, right? I spent the last hour screaming at the TV. Not even words. Just screaming. Thank god the finale is next week. I don't know how much more I can take. I am really hoping Orange is the New Black will not be horrifically depressing right off the bat. I need some good TV that won't horribly depress me.

Day 157: Pink is my favorite crayon

Just a random doodle to fill sketchbook space, and I am super sleepy, but I got a lot done today. Now, time to treat myself to a nice comfy bed.

Day 148: Doodle with all the colors of the rainbow!

I've been cleaning my room to make it easier for me to work in, and I found this super old pack of colored lead for a .07 mechanical pencil. A lot of the colors were brittle and kind of chalky looking due to their age, but I thought it'd be fun to use them up making colored sketches for the next few days.

Day 146: Grayscale

I got these cheap fake Copic markers (called Spectrum Noir) and I wanted to try them out. I only bought a gray-scale pack, and I thought these might be fun to mess around with at Otakon and take gray-scale commissions or something. So far these are fun, but they aren't as good as my old Prismacolor ones. (But here were pretty darn cheap.) I made the eyes way too big.

Day 144: More watery doodles

Played around with a few things tonight on the tablet, this is the one that’s the most finished. I gotta get more nibs for my tablet, this one is already worn down. I saw a DIY nib video on youtube, so I might try doing that.

Day 135: Skully-Skulls

Doodled a few skulls with my Sharpie pen. It's been my go-to drawing tool for a while. I love it so much! One of these skulls may or may not be One-eye'd Willy.

Day 112: Truly Outrangeous & Beautifully Bold!

A little doodle inspired by one of my favorite 80's cartoons, Jem! I'm having a lot of fun experimenting with different styles, but I still need a lot of work. I'm not really creating any fleshed out pieces. Anyway, the Misfits songs really are better and I'm gonna go get my butt into bed.

Day 96: Bubble Gum and oversized hoodies

Went into this one with pen, with no pencil guides, and it shows. I have no idea what's going on here. I wanted to try drawing someone chewing gum, without showing the gum, but I think it came out all kinds of...wrong. Welp, I'm getting better each day. We're almost at day 100 soon. I figure I should draw the same thing I drew on Day 1 every 100 days to see how I've improved. I think that might be interesting to see.

Day 93: Ehhh I tried

I was going to try and do another full body drawing, but...I got lazy. Sorry lovely lolita-esque girl, no legs for you. Maybe another night. I like the direction I'm going in with these detailed drawings, but I should try and do some more kind of finished pieces since Otakon is coming up quick. Gotta make some new prints! Maybe I'll do a 365 sketchbook-zine?

Day 91: Still working on hands

I honestly don't know what's up with me and doodling tea stuff. I rarely drink tea these days. Either way, I still need tons of practice with hands, so I'll try something with hands again tomorrow. Also perspective. That needs a LOT of work too.

Day 89: I need to buy more pants.

Shameful to admit, but I have literally 2 pairs of pants that currently fit me. I just cycle between the two throughout the work week.

I have a drawer in my dresser filled with jeans, but they're all size 7, and I am now a 9-11 in Juniors, 8-10 in women's since all of a sudden I'm gaining weight and my hips are like, "time to widen for babies!" What evil fucking genius decided to come up with these BS women's pant sizes anyway? I'm a 9 in this brand, a 13 in another, it's fucking maddening! I have been shopping for new jeans for literally months. NOTHING I FIND FITS! And now the newest dilemma I have is that for some reason bootcut and flares are back in style. I can't find any cigarette or straight legged pants! Whhyyy?

Girl pants are dumb.

Day 87: Bob's Patterns and a Singer?

Really lazy ones tonight. I am so tired. I was up til the sun rose last night. I need to get some sleep.

Day 86: More ladies!

I was thinking of sunflowers while doodling this one. I should draw some sunflowers and summery stuff tomorrow. Also, it's 5:30 in the morning. I NEVER SLEEP.

Day 83: Berry Good

I simple and sloppy berry doodle done in pink and blue Precise V5 ink, with a pencil rough, and slapped on PS colors.

Day 82: Lean With it

I liked doodling in color yesterday, so today I pulled out a Precise V5 pen in blue and just kinda sketched this out. Far from perfect, but it's nice working in a color other than black.
