Crystal Jem Series : Pearl/Kimber WIP

Even though Garnet was the one playing the key-taur in Steven's band, I feel like the keyboard was more Pearl-like than a guitar. (Plus she played violin in Steven's band and there is obviously no violin in The Holograms buttherewasoneintheMisfits.) I also made Pearl's hair a little more flowy like her 80's version from the Story For Steven Episode.

I’m combining my two animated musical loves, Jem & the Holograms with Steven Universe! Here’s the first in my series. I’ll be printing these up in various forms for Otakon 2015! I’m gonna get started on the other Gem/Jem’s this week. I have a whole band to create!

Day 149: WIP

Working on a little Jem and the Holograms themed Steven Universe piece for Otakon 2015. Mixing two of my animated musical loves with Pink leading ladies. I am so incredibly happy about this mash-up. I'm sure it's been done before, but I'm gonna do it anyway.

Day 148: Doodle with all the colors of the rainbow!

I've been cleaning my room to make it easier for me to work in, and I found this super old pack of colored lead for a .07 mechanical pencil. A lot of the colors were brittle and kind of chalky looking due to their age, but I thought it'd be fun to use them up making colored sketches for the next few days.

Day 147: That's Better

More messing around with quick doodles and these Spectrum Noir markers. This one is so much better than yesterday's. I got way too carried away, less is definitely more.

Day 146: Grayscale

I got these cheap fake Copic markers (called Spectrum Noir) and I wanted to try them out. I only bought a gray-scale pack, and I thought these might be fun to mess around with at Otakon and take gray-scale commissions or something. So far these are fun, but they aren't as good as my old Prismacolor ones. (But here were pretty darn cheap.) I made the eyes way too big.

I saw this fancy headdress post on tumblr and did a little doodle of one. Not really my style, but I like the tiny skull part.

Day 144: More watery doodles

Played around with a few things tonight on the tablet, this is the one that’s the most finished. I gotta get more nibs for my tablet, this one is already worn down. I saw a DIY nib video on youtube, so I might try doing that.
