Buttons Coming VERY Soon!

After finishing two characters I figured I would take a mini break before starting the next one. (Just a day or two off.) I want to try and work on some other projects that don't use digital media. In the meantime, I'll be printing both twewy poster designs up as buttons and they'll be available in my Etsy shop later this week!

Finished...Maybe?

Urg, I really don't like this one for some reason. I might choose a different quote to put on the background because the one I have right now just doesn't fit right. Plus, I always relate Joshua to the color purple in my head, but this theme is more on the blue/periwinkle side.

Visually I like the purple background more than the blue, but the blue is canon and makes sense. What to do? Either way I am kinda, sorta, done with this one. Time to move on to the next character.

It's getting there...I started adding color but I felt like the coloring looked wrong. I think I am just going insane.

NEXT UP....

I started Joshua tonight. I am hoping to manage my time better since the Jellyfish Princess piece took so long. I am giving myself a 3-day deadline for each of these TWEWY images. Between working a full time job, running my etsy, and Sometimes Foodie, I think that's a pretty reasonable time frame...let's see if I can stick to it.

And then there was color!

So I was originally only going to do a vectored outline with a colored background...but that looked too lazy to me. I think I'll stick with that for a poster of the whole group, but for individuals...it just wasn't my style.

So, that means everyone will get their own full color mini poster, and then there will be at least 2 group posters, which is more work...but I feel like the final results will be worth it. (I hope.)

Current project

I had so much fun making those little twewy sketches, I decided to do a few digital versions. I plan on making them into postcard sized prints individually, and then making one 11"x17" or 12"x18" poster print of them together. (Possibly without the quotes. Not sure if I can fit them all in.)

I'll update with them as I go!

Polymer Clay Shiny Pumkaboo

It's been a while since I have made anything using polymer clay, and it feels so good to be working in this medium again. I know this isn't a fantastic masterpiece, it's a little gift for my boyfriend, but I really enjoyed making it. 

With Valentine's Day quickly approaching, I've been trying to think of cute little gifts to make my boyfriend...who hopefully doesn't follow this blog. (I don't think he does...)He likes to play Pokemon, and recently he caught a shiny Pumpkaboo. Since I affectionately call him "Pumpkin" I thought a little shiny Pumpkaboo figure would make a sweet gift. (A pumpkin for my Pumpkin.)

Fresh Taiyaki with Kyoko

My boyfriend and I made taiyaki for breakfast!

 

He bought a special pan online, we whipped up a the recommended recipe, tossed in some red bean paste, and voila! Taiyaki! Check out my foodie post with a finished taiyaki and link to the recipe HERE.

 

If you like Madoka Magica, you might recognize the little figure. I actually bought it for him last October for his birthday. (Kyoko is his favorite.) We are such nerds, we had to grab her for a dorky little photo-op.
